This fire wood processor was the concept of a customer and we did the design work and fabrication. A hydraulic winch ( which is not installed in any pics) pulls logs up this ramp. The jack lifts the splitter and a tongue is attached to transport.

A bit earlier in construction a section of a big truck fuel tank simulates a log. The splitting ram is under the "log" and the 6-way splitter will be mounted in the frame on the left.

A chainsaw ( not yet mounted) cuts the block off here and it drops into the splitting section. The yellow bar is the main vertical splitter, the other "wings" were added later. The splitter adjusts hydraulically for different size wood.

This is the 5 1/2 in cylinder that does the work. The cylinder and a lot of the other pieces were recycled piece to keep the cost lower.

The motor is a used 4 cylinder propane forklift engine, and the tank which was a propane tank is now the hydraulic tank. It works pretty good, almost 2 cord cut and split per hour and no bending over to pick wood up ever.
